The department conducts studies using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the following diseases: African swine fever, classical swine fever, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, anthrax, ornithosis, chlamydia, leptospirosis, salmonella, bluetang, leukemia, infectious rhinotracheitis, viral diarrhea, salmonella, bluetang, leukemia, infectious rhinotracheitis, viral diarrhea, salmonella, bluetang, leukemia, infectious rhinotracheitis, viral diarrhea, salmonellosis, bluetangue, leukemia, infectious rhinotracheitis, viral diarrhea, salmonellosis, bluetangue, leukemia brucellosis, tuberculosis, Newcastle disease, Gamboro disease (infectious bursal disease), infectious bronchitis of chickens, infectious laryngotracheitis, Marek's disease, nodular dermatitis, avian influenza, parvovirus disease of pigs, Schmallenberg disease, actinobacillary pleuropneumonia of pigs, mycoplasmosis, rotavirus infection, transmissible gastroenteritis of pigs. The Department of Molecular Studies is a structural unit of the Oryol testing laboratory of the Central Scientific and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory. The department employs experienced, highly qualified specialists who have the appropriate education and regularly undergo advanced training courses in research institutes and laboratories. The competence of the specialists of the department is annually confirmed during interlaboratory comparative tests, the providers of which are: FGBU ARRIAH, FGBU CNMVL.

The Department of Molecular Studies is engaged in laboratory research within the framework of the state assignment program and monitoring studies on the detection of viral and bacterial diseases.

The department is equipped with the necessary modern equipment, reagents, test systems. In connection with the constant development of new diagnostic kits, the department is continuously expanding the range of research conducted, which makes it possible to constantly develop in the direction of molecular research.
